As you can see it's just crude 2d sprites in a very crude 3d world but this is probably the first game that I ever played on the computer and definitely the first game that interacted with the internet.

Runescape Classic!
Just a game I use to play a lot when I was much younger has decided to re open it's doors makes me so happy.

ReplyDeletethis is great! Can you find examples of very early text based Role Play games? perhaps you can write a list of the top 10 things a game has to have in order to appeal to you as a great game?
There was a huge database of Text based MUD's (multi user dungeons), from back in the day, but I cannot remember what it was called. However, I do remember one of the games called Zebedee, and its was really fantastic! Even though it was text based, it was so indepth and your imagination would take over. Also It may be a cool idea to check out some MUD game engines, to see how they tick? :]
